Lending a Hand

This photograph means a lot to me.  I have been in Jie Ying's home (seated right) on a home visit in the dead of Winter and watched her mother carefully peel oranges and separate the slices and then portion them out a few at a time for her daughter to eat. Recently, when Miss Kuang (left) asked her mother which growth area would be the most helpful for daughter to pursue, she replied that Jie Ying learning to eat independently would be a significant milestone. Miss Kuang got right to work on a learning plan to help Jie Ying develop this ability.  Here they are in the midst of the regular regimen (intensive and daily practice for the initial couple of weeks) they have begun recently. We're cheering for you, Jie Ying!
