The Family

乐乐 Lele and her Grandmother

Lele has Cerebral Palsy and her grandmother is her primary caregiver. When Lele was 5 years old, her Grandma first learned about FPP through a friend. Until that point, Lele’s grandmother had been conducting at-home therapy with limited resources.

FPP has been a great blessing to Lele and her grandmother. Over the last five years, Lele’s grandmother has received continuous support and training through the community, while social workers from FPP have undertaken home visits to the family to prevent them from feeling isolated.

Not only has Lele received physiotherapy and special education, but she has also been attending outings and going to the Summer camps. All of this has resulted in improvement in her emotional health and expanded her capabilities. Lele and her grandmother have found kindness, friendship and a supportive community that feels like a family.

Several months ago, 乐乐 LeLe’s grandmother felt she needed a daily opportunity to engage with a larger community of children where she could learn and grow.  She invited our staff to help her locate a daytime program that would meet 乐乐 LeLe’s needs.  As you can see from the photo below, she seems to be settling in well.  A big reason we exist is to Empower Children and Equip Families toward a Better Tomorrow.  We are honored to continue to play an important role in 乐乐 LeLe’s journey.

乐乐Le Le was obviously very pleased with her new doll.  Miss Dorothee also seemed pleased to be able to deliver it!
