ABOUT THE FAMILY PARTNERS PROGRAMME

The Family Partners Programme (FPP) is a ground-breaking project established by ICC in Changsha in 2008. FPP provides family support services to hundreds of families living with children with disabilities.

Since its launch, we have worked with more than 600 families in Hunan province, providing access to training, counselling, parent support groups, physical and occupational therapy, special education and vocational training.

The Family Partners Programme utilizes a unique multi-disciplinary approach in the form of Cross Care teams. Each teams consists of a social worker, a therapist and a special education worker. They visit families in their homes to provide assessments, counselling, therapy and support.

In recognition of the programme’s success, the Civil Affairs department of Changsha—the capital of Hunan province—has invited FPP to reach out to thousands of families across the city. Later this year we will be establishing FPP teams in the city of Hengyang.

The work of our Cross Care teams is displayed in real-time on this website. Visitors to the site can see up-to-the-minute developments, along with stories, photos and updates on the families we serve.
